Apparently there was some confusion about the Project Homerun plans The Town of Harrison submitted to the state on Dec. 28, 2009. The story was broken in our papers
The Harrison Report and
The Rye Sound Shore Review last month about the amended application which includes proposals to build a baseball field, a multi-purpose field, a gazebo, and walking trails. Now officials are saying that those plans do not necessarily reflect their goals for the site.
Town Mayor Joan Walsh told us yesterday that the plans that were submitted were not reflective of Harrison's vision. She said the gazebo would not be built and the fields would be "pick up" ball only style fields. In fact, the multi-purpose field, in her view, will be just a flat area of grassland.
