VOM Board of Trustees to hold public hearings on parking, returned check fees

The Village of Mamaroneck Board of Trustees will hold public hearings on raising fees for parking violations and returned checks.

At its regular meeting Monday evening at 7:30 in the Village Courtroom, the board will hear comment on an proposal to raise the fine for parking in a handicapped spot from $55 to $150 and for exceeding the time limit for a parking spot from $15 to $20.

For returned checks, the village is looking to add language to the code that would accommodate higher fees charged by banks for returned checks. The new language would allow the village to charge the issuer of the check the fee charged by the bank and a $20 service fee for administrative costs to the village for reprocessing the check.
